- In a plate place 2 tablespoonful of custard
- Place meringue on top
- Drizzle 1 tablespoonful of passionfruit pulp
- Place some blueberries around the plate
- Drizzle ground pistachio over then serve
This dish was inspired by the one we ordered at Black Barn Bistro where we had a nearly similar dessert but made with mascarpone cream filled in an eggshell shaped meringue. We really liked that dessert, it is a perfect balance of sweetness, tanginess and creaminess on a plate hence we thought of making it at home with less effort by buying supermarket bought ready-made ingredients.
There are some differences on the one we ordered compared to the ones we made/assembled, first our meringue is not hollow, then instead of using mascarpone cream we opted for a cheaper alternative in the form of readymade custard, since we don’t have a hollow meringue we just made the custard as a base. Another difference is the blueberry powder where it was replaced with powdered pistachio instead. With those differences it was still impressive and tasted nearly similar, in fact it was my daughter who prepared this and it was served on one of the dinner we hosted at home with some friends, they did like it too.
