Bourbon Steak Sliders

  • 4 pcs (175 g each) beef scotch fillet steaks
  • 1 cup water
  • ⅔ cup Bourbon whiskey
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • juice from half lemon
Pickled Red Onions
  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • Slider buns
  1. In a non-reactive bowl combine water, bourbon whiskey, soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice, mix well.
  2. Add the steaks in the bowl, coat evenly then cover bowl with cling wrap. Place in the refrigerator then marinate overnight.
  3. Remove the steak from the refrigerator one hour prior to cooking. Remove excess marinade then cook steaks on a prepared grill for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking. Remove steaks from heat then let it rest.
  4. While steaks are resting combine white vinegar and sugar together in bowl, mix well then add the red onions.
  5. Prepare your buns, slice in half.
  6. Slice your steaks then set it aside.
  7. Assemble the sliders, put a tablespoon of aioli in the bottom, top with rocket salad, then the steak, then the pickled red onions and top it with sriracha. Put the half of the bun on top then serve.
