Guys Pig and Anchor at the Carnival Radiance

Enjoy authentic BBQ at Guy’s Pig & Anchor on Carnival ships. Hickory-smoked brisket, pulled pork, and sides like mac and cheese—all complimentary at lunch!⚓️ Smoked brisket, juicy chicken, and spicy sausage with a side of ocean breeze? Guy’s Pig & Anchor serves up BBQ heaven on the high seas! ️ #BBQLovers #CarnivalCruiseEats

When it comes to barbecue, it’s all about the smoke—and at Guy’s Pig & Anchor, they take that seriously. Nestled onboard Carnival ships, this BBQ smokehouse serves up authentic hickory and applewood flavours, making it a must-try for cruisers looking for hearty, slow-cooked comfort food.

If you’re lucky enough to cruise on a ship with this venue, you can enjoy complimentary BBQ lunches during embarkation and sea days (from 12 to 2:30 p.m.), featuring smoked meats like brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and sausage, paired with traditional sides like mac and cheese, baked beans, and collard greens. While the menu isn’t as extensive as the à la carte dinner offering, the free lunch is still a BBQ lover’s dream.

The Meat of the Matter

Here’s how it works: step up to the counter, tell the crew what meats and sides you want, and they’ll serve up generous portions straight from the smoker. If you’re a little light on something, just ask—they’ll happily pile on more. Sauces are available on the side, letting you customize your plate with as much tangy, spicy, or sweet flavour as you like.

Of all the offerings, Smoked Beef Brisket stood out as my absolute favourite. The slices were tender, with just the right balance of smoky depth and seasoned perfection. Coming in a close second was the Smoked Andouille Sausage—a bold, spicy delight with an unmistakable smoky punch. The Blue-Ribbon Chicken was another highlight, with its crispy, slightly sweet-and-spicy exterior encasing juicy meat.

While the Pork Butt was flavourful, it leaned a bit dry; the variety of sauces definitely helped bring it to life. On the side, the Molasses Baked Beans were a sweet, smoky hit, perfectly complementing the pork. However, the Mac Daddy Mac & Cheese left me wishing for a cheesier punch—it was good, just not the gooey indulgence I had envisioned.

Dining with a View (and a Breeze!)

The lunch service is set up outdoors, giving you a chance to enjoy the fresh sea air while you dig into your plate of BBQ goodness. However, a word of caution: strong winds can make it tricky to keep your meal grounded. I’ve seen plates get caught by a gust—it’s no fun heading back to the line for round two after waiting once! Due to the limited hours, the lines can get long, but they move fairly quickly, so don’t be discouraged.

Why Pig & Anchor is Worth It

With its real onboard smoker, freshly-prepared meats, and unbeatable price (free lunch, anyone?), Guy’s Pig & Anchor sets itself apart from your typical cruise dining options. Sure, not everything is a home run, but the highlights—like the brisket and sausage—make it well worth a visit.

So, if you’re cruising and catch a whiff of that hickory and applewood smoke, you know where to go. Just grab a plate, load it up, and enjoy a taste of authentic BBQ, all while sailing the open seas.
