It’s been a while since I last indulged in bubble tea or Asian drinks, but with winter officially behind us and the weather warming up, it seemed like the perfect time to revisit one of our favourites—Yogost! While I don’t frequent it often due to the higher prices, it’s always a satisfying treat when I do. This time, we decided to visit their Takapuna branch and give some of their newer menu items a try: the Mango Colada and Pistachio Avo-Ready.
Now, let me tell you, Yogost is on the pricier side compared to most bubble tea shops. For example, the Mango Colada costs NZ$12.80, and the Pistachio Avo-Ready is NZ$15.80. I know—it’s the price of a full meal! But here’s the thing: these drinks are practically meals themselves. They’re hearty, filling, and packed with real fruits and all-natural yogurt, which makes them both creamy and nutritious. The quality here is undeniable, which is why I don’t mind splurging once in a while.
Usually, we go for their Rice Yogurts, but the ads for these two drinks were just too tempting to pass up. Both were delicious and true to their flavours. The Mango Colada was packed with fresh, juicy mango pieces and had a delightful tang from the yogurt, balanced out by the coconut and colada flavour. It’s the kind of drink that makes you feel like you’re on a tropical vacation—refreshing, fruity, and creamy all at once.
The Pistachio Avo-Ready, on the other hand, was something entirely different but equally delicious. This blend of fresh avocado and creamy yogurt, with the added nuttiness from the pistachios, was so rich and creamy. It’s the perfect choice if you’re looking for something indulgent yet healthy.
As for the Takapuna branch itself, this is the biggest Yogost store we’ve been to so far. The ambiance was lovely—clean and minimalist with a dainty white theme. There’s plenty of seating available, making it a great spot to sit down and enjoy your drink. Service was quick, and the staff were super friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
If you’re in the Takapuna area and in the mood for a refreshing, high-quality drink, Yogost is definitely worth the visit. Sure, it’s a bit of a splurge, but the flavours, quality, and experience make it worth every cent.
