Just a quick post today as I am the only one ordering at this place. My daughter and wife opted for other places in this food court, but for me, I was craving a poke bowl for quite some time now, so it’s Poke House for me.

I grabbed a 2-protein bowl (NZ$19.20), choosing the salmon and chicken. It was a huge meal, and they certainly don’t skimp on the toppings, although the protein portions were smaller compared to other poke bowl places I’ve tried. Nevertheless, the abundance of other toppings made up for it, and there were so many choices.

The poke bowls at Poke House are incredibly flavourful, fresh, and made with high-quality ingredients. The menu offers a wide range of options, allowing customers to tailor their bowls to their specific tastes and preferences. Here’s a breakdown of what you can choose from:

  • Bases: Brown rice, white rice, garlic rice, green tea noodle, mixed green salad
  • Proteins: Chicken, salmon, seasonal fish, spicy tuna, tuna, prawn, tofu, and mushroom
  • Vegetables and Add-ons: Edamame, kale, carrot, cucumber, cabbage, onion, mango, jalapeno, seaweed, crab salad, ginger, beetroot, masago, coconut, avocado, quinoa, lotus chips, macadamia, onion crisps, furikake, sesame, and wonton chips

This variety ensures a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavours in every bite.

Apart from the food itself, the customer service at Poke House was excellent. The staff was friendly and accommodating, taking the time to explain the various options and ingredients in detail. The clean and comfortable ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall dining experience.

The meal was definitely filling, thanks to the tons of non-protein toppings which masked the lack of proteins. If it wasn’t for that, this review might have taken a different tone. Overall, I highly recommend Poke House to anyone looking to try out delicious and healthy food options. The poke bowls are an absolute must-try, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit to this fantastic restaurant! One of the best healthy, hearty options for lunch when you’re in Sylvia Park.

  • Considering how simple it is, it's crazy how difficult it is to find good poke. This sounds like it qualifies! All those mix in's like beets and tofu really set it apart from the pack. The green tea noodles are pretty unique, too.
