Pocha, short for pojangmacha, embodies the essence of Korean street food culture, offering a tantalizing array of Anju – shared dishes perfect for accompanying Soju. Despite its popularity among university students, I hadn’t ventured here until today, opting for a leisurely lunchtime exploration.

From the moment I stepped in, Pocha exuded warmth and hospitality. The attentive staff promptly seated us and provided water, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. Utilizing their convenient self-ordering system, we wasted no time in selecting our dishes.

As our orders arrived with lightning speed, I couldn’t contain my excitement to sample the renowned fried chicken – and it did not disappoint. Crispy yet tender, each bite burst with flavour, showcasing the culinary mastery behind Pocha’s creations.

Sweet & Spicy Chicken Medium 350G (NZ$33.00):
Pocha’s signature sweet and spicy chicken, glazed to perfection and accompanied by fries. A symphony of contrasting flavours – the sweetness of the glaze juxtaposed with the fiery heat – creates a sensory experience that delights the palate.

Maple Almond Krunch Medium 350G (NZ$33.00):
A tantalizing blend of almond krunch coated with maple butter sauce, served with fries. Kings Katsu (NZ$29.00):

For drinks we had some:
