미스카츠 / Miskats (Dongane-gu, Busan, South Korea)

Located inside the Busan Lotte Department Store, Miskatswas actually our restaurant of last resort after having to sought shelter from the pouring rain after visiting the Yonggunggusa Temple.

To our surprise, Miskats turned out to be a fusion restaurant offering a variety of dishes from both Korea and Japan. Their menu was divided into six main sections: Katsu, Korean Katsu, Set Katsu, Dolsot al Bap, Noodles, and Udon.

The dish that immediately caught my attention was the Mozzarella Cheese Pork Cutlet (치즈카츠), so that’s what I ordered. For the side noodles, we were given a choice of Udon or Naengymeon, and I opted for Udon as I was craving something warm. The dish also came with a salad dressed with Kewpie dressing, Radish Kimchi, Pickles, Katsu Sauce, and Rice. The portion was generous, almost too much for me to manage alone. I had to enlist the help of my friends to finish it, but it was incredibly filling and delicious. The mozzarella cheese complemented the crunchiness of the katsu without being overpowering. I also thoroughly enjoyed the side Udon dish.

We also ordered Omelette Rice with Pork Cutlet (돈까스회오리오므라이스). Similar to the Mozzarella Cheese Pork Cutlet, this dish was served with a side of Salad, Radish Kimchi, Pickles, and Katsu Sauce. Instead of the side noodle option, we were given some sort of side soup, which turned out to be equally delicious. The Omelette Rice was exactly as expected: a runny egg bathed in demi-glace sauce, a satisfying and savoury dish.
