Comma Tea (Albany, North Shore, New Zealand)

For those in Auckland who are fans of bubble tea, Comma Tea is a must-visit establishment. This small and charming bubble tea stall, situated in Albany, offers a diverse selection of milk teas and bubble teas. One of the standout attributes of Comma Tea is their extensive menu of bubble teas. With an array of teas, milk teas, and fruity teas, there is something for everyone’s taste, whether you prefer a classic milk tea, creme foam, fresh tea, grand slam or even a tea-free option.

During our visit, we had the opportunity to try two of their popular drinks. The first was the “Mango Fresh Milk Grand Slam” (NZ$9.80), a mango-flavoured fresh milk beverage topped with an assortment of sweet and chewy toppings, such as herbal jelly, milk pudding, pearls, and coconut jelly. This combination of flavours and textures creates a layered and textured drink that is both rejuvenating and satisfying.

Next, we tried the “Taro Grand Slam” (NZ$9.80), a taro-flavoured milk tea with a variety of sweet and chewy toppings, including fresh taro, brown sugar pearls, milk pudding, and taro balls. The blend of the creamy and sweet taro flavour with the chewy and scrumptious toppings results in a drink that is sure to please any sweet tooth.

Both of these drinks were incredibly delicious and came fully loaded with a variety of jellies, reminiscent of Gong Cha’s Earl Grey 3J’s one of my favourite milk tea flavours. They will likely be popular among those who enjoy sweet and satisfying drinks, I honestly liked it.

It is worth mentioning that Comma Tea does not have a proper seating area like other milk tea shops, and is instead just a simple and clean stall located in the parking lot behind Yum Lamb Hot Pot, with a “hole in the wall” style. However, this doesn’t detract from the quality of their drinks, making Comma Tea a true gem in Albany.

In conclusion, it is pricey compared to its competitors but with its wide range of milk teas and bubble teas, Comma Tea is the perfect place to grab a quick and delicious drink. If you’re in the Albany area, be sure to pay a visit to Comma Tea and try one of their refreshing drinks for yourself.
