Cinta Malaysian Restaurant (Westgate, Waitakere, New Zealand)

If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Malaysia in Auckland, look no further than Cinta Malaysian Restaurant in Westgate. This cosy and inviting eatery offers a wide range of traditional dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds and leave you feeling satisfied. This was the first restaurant we tried when we moved to Westgate and I was surprised that it was a coincidence that we are having our last dining at Westgate, in the same restaurant that we started with. Yes we moved back to North Shore, it was just more convenient for us in many ways, so definitely there will be more North Shore restaurant reviews coming soon.

Going back to Cinta, one of the standout dishes on the menu is the Nasi Lemak, a fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and served with a variety of side dishes, including spicy sambal sauce, crispy fried anchovies, peanuts, and boiled eggs. This dish is a staple in Malaysia and is sure to be a hit with those who enjoy bold and flavourful foods. It was one of our favourite dishes here and we grabbed the Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang (NZ$24.50).

Another popular dish which is one of our orders as well is the Kway Tiaw Goreng with Seafood (NZ$22.90), a stir-fried noodle dish made with flat noodles, bean sprouts, shrimp, egg, and a variety of seafood like prawns and fish cakes. The noodles are cooked to perfection and the flavours meld together beautifully to create a satisfying dish that is both filling and delicious.

We also grabbed a Chicken Curry Laksa (NZ$19.50), a noodle soup with a creamy and spicy coconut-based broth served with thin rice noodles and yellow noodles, chicken, and a variety of fresh herbs and vegetables. The broth of the Chicken Laksa Noodle is made with a combination of spices, coconut milk, and a chili-based paste, which gives it its distinctive flavour and heat. The noodles are soft and slippery, and they soak up the delicious broth, making every bite a flavour explosion. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the herbs and vegetables add a freshness and crunch to the dish.

In addition to the delicious food, the service at Cinta Malaysian Restaurant is top-notch. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they are more than happy to help you choose the perfect dish to suit your tastes. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the decor is a charming mix of traditional and modern elements, making it the perfect place to enjoy a casual meal with friends or family.

Cinta Malaysian Restaurant in Westgate is a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic taste of Malaysia in Auckland. With a wide range of delicious dishes, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to experience the best of Malaysian cuisine. It’s so hard to find Malaysian food here! I wish this restaurant could exist near me too. If only more people in the US knew, they’d be hooked.

Malaysian, eh? I should be familiar with all the dishes here. Look good, all of them. Those sun hats on the wall in the last pic is very Sarawakian, East Malaysian…from my part of the country.
