Kiniing Bukel is a Filipino soup dish prepared with a type of dried smoked pork with white beans cooked with a sauté of onions, garlic together with leafy vegetables.


Units Scale
  • 250 g kiniing
  • 1 bunch bok choy, trimmed
  • 400 g can red or white beans
  • 3 cups pork stock
  • 2 pcs small shallots
  • 6 thin slices ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • oil
  • salt


  1. In a soup pot heat oil then sauté garlic, shallots and ginger in medium heat until fragrant and shallots are soft.
  2. Add the kiniing then cook for two minutes.
  3. Pour the pork stock then bring it to a boil, cover the pot then put heat to low then simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Add the beans, simmer for 10 minutes
  5. Add the bok choy, simmer for 1 more minute.
  6. Season with salt if needed, turn heat off then serve.
