Nacho Cheese Dog

Cheesy, crunchy and hot is all you need for a great manwich experience. Nacho Cheese Dog is an American Style Hotdog Sandwich prepared with grilled Hotdogs topped with nacho cheese sauce, pickled jalapeno peppers and crushed tortilla chips.

Now that we have Costco in Auckland American Hotdogs became easily accessible, before this processed meat is quite hard to find, sometimes the supermarkets have them but most of the times they don’t, I think is because New Zealanders prefer their sausage rather than this processed tasting salty and very savory concoction. For me I like that becuase I got used to that taste growing up, Philippines has a lot of American products, so our palates were adjusted and fine-tuned to these types of taste.

There are many types of American Hotdog Sandwiches from the most basic ones with ketchup and mustard to the more moreish ones with chilli con carne on top. Today we are making one of my favourites the Nacho Cheese Dog. Nacho cheese dog is a balance of texture and flavours, soft bun, firm dogs, sloppy cheese sauce and crispy nachos not to mention it’s also cheesy, savoury, spicy and a bit sweet and creamy from the buns used. Its super easy to make and most of it can be store bought, only thing you need to do is to cook your hotdogs and heat up the rest of the ingredients.
