Bacon and Broccoli Quiche

This is deliciously easy, cheesy, and satisfying best of all it is quick to prepare and perfect for breakfast, brunch or if you wish, any time of the day. Bacon and Broccoli Quiche is a simple quiche made with ready-made pastry, eggs, bacon, cheese and broccoli.

This recipe may look complicated but using store bought pasty you can whip it up for breakfast and bake as you prepare yourself for the long day ahead. Using pantry staples like eggs and bacon, plus if you have some left over broccoli, it is the perfect complete meal to start your day. If you want to be a little bit fancy and have time on your hands, there is no stopping you to make your own pasty for that extra special touch.

Description

Bacon and Broccoli Quiche is a simple quiche made with ready-made pastry, eggs, bacon, cheese and broccoli.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups broccoli florets, steamed until tender
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp bacon grease
  • 1 small white onion, finely diced
  • 1 pc store bought frozen pie crust
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Lightly coat a pie pan with oil then carefully place the store-bought frozen pie crust. Place baking paper on top of the pastry then fill with ceramic baking beans, dried pulses, or rice.
  2. Blind bake in a 190C preheated oven for 15 minutes, remove from oven then set it aside.
  3. In a bowl combine eggs, milk, salt and freshly ground black pepper, whisk until evenly combined
  4. Fold in the steamed broccoli, onions, bacon, cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese then pour into the precooked pie pastry.
  5. Bake in a 190C preheated oven then bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until top is set.
  6. Remove from oven, let it cool for 15 minutes before serving.
