Halo Halo Ice Cream

It’s your favourite Filipino dessert drink in an ice cream form. Halo Halo Ice Cream is a type of Filipino ice cream prepared with Ang Sarap’s trusted no churn mixture infused with Halo Halo ingredients such as Nata de Coco, Jackfruit, Kaong, Red Beans, White Beans and Macapuno.

I almost forgotten about this ice cream, until I was finding a way to use leftover halo halo ingredients. It was one of my favourite ice cream flavours growing up and if I can remember it was the Magnolia brand which we usually buy. Basically, its Halo Halo in an ice cream form using the same ingredients but instead of putting it on crushed ice with evaporated milk, we infuse this ingredient in a basic no-churn ice cream recipe which we had used a lot of times here at Ang Sarap.

  2. Gently add the condensed milk and halo halo mix then fold (not whisk nor blend) it into the whipped cream.
  3. Pour contents into a container then freeze until set. Remove from the freezer, scoop then serve.

What a fun idea! It always seems like so much work to put together all the toppings for halo halo, so I love how you made it into one simple scoop.

Your no churn ice cream sounds fascinating! Definitely will need to try it in the summer. The Halo Halo inclusions sound interesting too.

  8. As with Ben, I’ve never heard of Halo Halo mix. I will look for it next time I’m at our Asian grocery store. Sounds like there are lots of opportunities for different flavors.
