Do you want to impress your loved ones but don’t have the time to grab all of the different things like flowers and cakes from different shops? Well, let me introduce you to “The Three Words”, a cake and flower shop located in Lorne Street where you can buy both of what you need under one roof, saving you time and effort. Whether its Anniversary, Birthday, Thank-You, Bereavement, Get-well-soon or Congratulation, they have the right sweets and flower for the occasion.
They sell beautiful cakes, highly instagrammable cupcakes and macarons where it can be nicely boxed and ready for gifting. What’s even better their prices are not too crazy compared to what you can buy in Auckland. Simple cakes start at NZ$42.00, fancier ones at NZ$75.00, cupcakes set at NZ$30.00 and the ones we are trying today the set of macarons which costs NZ$25.00 (6pcs) or NZ$48.00 (12 pcs).
The packaging sorts of reminds me of Luxumbergerli by Sprungli where it is neatly arranged in a minimalistic box accompanied by a pamphlet of macaron flavours they offer. They have 18 flavours to choose from, while we would love to try all of them, we only got a 12 pack and we doubled up on two flavours so we will give the next 8 a try the next time around.
What we grabbed were (in order from top to bottom, from left to right): Salted Caramel, Rose, Strawberry, Blueberry Yoghurt, Cookies and Cream, Hazelnut and Chocolate, Raspberry White Chocolate, Another Rose, Matcha Green Tea, Vanilla, another Cookies and Cream and finally the Lemon. To be honest they were all good macarons, great texture, nice flavours, looks pretty even just for a macaron (fatcaron is on a different level) and it was as par as the ones we tried in France.
We also tried one of the cupcakes and grabbed the cookies and cream ones, this too was really good. Nice chocolate flavour, it was soft and moist. Definitely one of the best cupcakes you can get in Auckland.
So, did we buy some flowers? Well, we did not it was just one of those days without any occasion where we want to indulge on something new and luckily, we loved it.
