We all know breakfast is the most important part of the day. It gives us the energy we need to get up and at ‘em and take on the day. Despite this, far too many people eat a breakfast which is lacking all of the nutrition they need to kick start their morning, and many people skip breakfast altogether. This is often because they think they don’t have enough time to prepare breakfast before they have to leave for work or school. There are many fantastic breakfast ideas, however, which are super quick to make, and are also healthy and delicious.

To help everyone out there start their day off in the right way, here are 6 useful ideas to make quick and delicious breakfasts.

1. Breakfast Omelettes

There is nothing better than fluffy omelette for breakfast and it is an incredibly versatile food. If you have the right equipment like the best omelette pan, you can make the perfect omelette every time in just a few minutes. For a classic breakfast version, add ham, cheese, mushrooms and tomato and you will be starting your day off with a light, delicious meal. Alternatively, spinach, bacon and ricotta is another fantastic combination. Make sure you don’t overcook the omelette or it will go rubbery and won’t taste half as good.

2. Homemade Granola

Many people have the wrong idea about granola that it is full of sugar and so isn’t healthy, but this is only true for certain brands of store-bought granola. If you make your own, you can add all of your favorite ingredients without any added sugar. Different cereals, nuts, and grains can all be mixed to make the perfect granola, and if you want it a little sweet, adding your favorite dried fruits or a drop of honey is all you need to do. Make up a big batch of granola at the start of the week and then make sure you store it in a sealed container so that it stays super fresh.

3. Avocado Toast

The quintessential hipster’s breakfast, avocado toast went from being totally unknown to being a staple item on many people’s breakfast menu. What’s great about avocado toast is that there are so many different versions. Some people like slices of avocado with parmesan shavings and a little smoked salmon, while others like an avocado smash with cream cheese and a soft poached egg. The important thing is that you get the avocado seasoning absolutely right and then whatever recipe you follow, it is sure to be delicious. A little salt and pepper are all you really need but you can add lime juice and cilantro to smashed avocado to make yummy Mexican guacamole.


4. Banana, Peanut Butter and Chia Seed Toast

This one is a bit of a health nut’s dream but it is a delicious, nutritious breakfast for everyone, particularly those in a rush. Chia seeds have fantastic antioxidants and fiber and chia seed toast has the perfect rough texture for creamy peanut butter and sweet banana. Just make sure that there isn’t too much sugar in the peanut butter and you will have a perfectly balanced start to your day. If you are not a fan of peanut butter, you can replace it with another nut butter which you prefer.

5. Breakfast Smoothie

Breakfast smoothies are fantastic because they can enable you to get all of the nutrients you need to start your day but take literally minutes to prepare. Far healthier than a liquid lunch, you can even drink your smoothie during your commute to work. There are hundreds of different smoothie combinations which are both delicious and nutritious. If you want a full meal replacement smoothie, combine whey protein with milk, peanut butter, banana, and dark chocolate chips, and you will have a solid breakfast which you can take with you.

6. Rice Pudding

Rice pudding is another delicious, super easy breakfast, and the best thing about it is that you can use your leftover rice from the night before. All you need for traditional, creamy rice pudding is your leftover rice, a cup of milk, a knob of butter, and an egg. Rice pudding is incredibly versatile so you can add some chopped bananas, a splodge of jam, or something a little more sophisticated like passion fruit and lime coulis.


Preparing a quick, healthy breakfast is super easy and will set you up for the rest of the day. Everybody has time to make their breakfast with little planning and the right ingredients. Try out some of these breakfast ideas and you will have the perfect start to your morning.
