Description
Japanese Coleslaw is a Japanese side dish of thinly sliced cabbage, carrots and spring onions tossed in a dressing made with rice wine vinegar, soy sauce and sugar. A perfect side dish to any fried or grilled Japanese dish.
Ingredients

Coleslaw mix
- 2 1/2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
- 1/2 cup thinly julienned carrots
- 1 stalk spring onion, thinly sliced
Dressing
- 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp canola oil
Toppings
- 3 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup katsuobushi / bonito flakes
Instructions
- In a bowl combine all dressing ingredients together.
- Place coleslaw mix in a bowl, pour dressing then toss to coat.
- Top it with sesame seeds and bonito flakes then serve.
