Fish nuggets are deep fried battered white fish fillets usually enjoyed as a snack or side dish and served with tartare sauce or sweet chilli sauce
When I visited the Asian grocer last weekend, I saw this bag of frozen pangasius, never had used this fish so I gave it a try. On the packet it has this photo of a dish where it is drenched in lots of chillies and oil, that’s what made me buy it and that’s what I made with half of this packet. This fish was perfect for that dish since the flesh of this seafood is quite mild and soft, drenching it in spice infused oily broth gives it more life, like tofu served with a nice sauce. Then I was left with half of the packet and was wondering what should I make out of it, since the fillets was sliced in smaller portions, similar to the size of a chicken nugget that gave me an idea of making this as a fish nugget, but instead of mashing the dish meat to a paste, I used it as a whole and seasoned, coat with a crispy batter. Think of it like a mini fish and chips but better since it has more crispier parts to it due to the ratio of batter to flesh, plus it cooks really fast. Enjoy its chips and an ice-cold drink like your favourite beer.
