Cheesy Broccoli Bites

Cheesy Broccoli Bites is a side dish / finger food of deep-fried breaded mixture of broccoli florets, cheese and eggs.

This thing is so cheesy you will forget there is broccoli on this one. Cheesy Broccoli Bites is an excellent finger food or side dish, it’s so addictive and easy to eat even the pickiest eater and non-veg lovers will easily fall in love with this. It’s so easy to prepare you just need cheese, broccoli, egg, breadcrumbs and flour, mix them all together and deep fry it. I guess any vegetable can be used on this recipe too, like cauliflower, carrots, Brussel sprouts or even mix and match them, what do you think?

Cheesy Broccoli Bites is a side dish / finger food of deep-fried breaded mixture of broccoli florets, cheese and eggs.

Broccoli Cheese Balls

Breading

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

Others

  • canola oil, for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Steam broccoli until slightly soft, set aside then let cool.
  2. Finely chop broccoli then place in a large bowl, add the rest of the Broccoli Cheese Balls ingredients.
  3. Mix well and using your hands, shape mixture into 15 to 16 balls. Place balls in a plate then refrigerate for an hour.
  4. On a plate place all-purpose flour
  5. On another plate, place Panko breadcrumbs
  6. On a bowl add the eggs.
  7. Remove Broccoli Cheese Balls from the refrigerator, coat each ball in flour, then dip it in egg then finally dip and coat it on the Panko breadcrumbs.
  8. Deep fry Broccoli Cheese Balls in a 180C preheated deep fryer for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown in colour. Remove from deep fryer, drain and remove excess oil then serve.
