Filipino Style Beef Curry is a Filipino style curry dish prepared with beef, curry powder and coconut milk, it’s less spicy than the Indian curry.


  • 1 kg g beef brisket (20% fat)
  • 2 sweet potatoes, cubed
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 can 400 ml coconut milk
  • 200 ml coconut cream
  • 3 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 white onion, roughly chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • salt
  • oil


  1. Generously season beef brisket with salt and freshly ground black pepper
  2. In a heavy pot add some oil then brown beef brisket on all sides, once browned remove beef brisket then set aside.
  3. Add onions and sauté until they turn soft.
  4. Add garlic and ginger then sauté for a minute
  5. Add curry powder, beef brisket, beef stock and coconut milk. Bring to a boil then simmer in low heat for 1 hour. Check liquid levels once in a while, add water if it dries out.
  6. Add the carrots then continue to simmer for 45 minutes or until beef is tender.
  7. Add sweet potatoes and simmer again for 5 minutes.
  8. Add coconut cream, put heat on high then bring to a boil then simmer for 5 more minutes.
  9. Add the sugar then season with freshly ground black pepper and salt.
  10. Serve with freshly cooked jasmine rice.
