The Terrace (Gold Coast, Australia)

Visiting in Gold Coast soon after this pandemic has cleared out across the globe and there are four of you? If that is the case and happen to crave for some Thai cuisine and have a good dinner then try this place out, The Terrace. For AU$35.90 per person as long as there are four or more in your group then you can enjoy a really nice dinner by getting this Banquet Special Menu. Then to top it all up you can also grab a bucket consisting of 4 Singha beer for AU$22.00.

This is what we exactly did the last time we visited the place, dined in here by accident. Luckily the restaurant we are after was near its closing time and we want to hang out a little bit and discovered this place.

Their Banquet Special Menu certainly was a good choice as we were all hungry and if one entree, four mains, rice and a dessert would not make you full, I don’t know what will. There was a lot of food and the serving sizes where good.

It starts with some mixed entree where there are three items served per person, one spring roll, one prawn roll and one samosa served with sweet chilli sauce and some side salad. This goes really well with beer, and I suggest pace yourself with food as there are more coming.

They only serve when you finish what’s on your table, so after all of us had finishes with our entrees the mains started to arrive.

First us was the Cashew Nut Chicken, it’s a nice stir-fried chicken with some vegetables like broccoli and snap peas, served on a savoury sweet and spicy sauce. It got some nice kick to it but not to overpowering, a nice start to our mains which started livening up our taste buds.

Then we have this Creamy Massaman Beef, tender beef pieces in a nutty sweet and savoury gravy perfect with that nice bowl of jasmine rice. It was very good.

Then this Fruity Duck Curry which came next, served with lychees, tomatoes, carrots and broccoli. Creamy and sweet like the Massaman Beef, and the duck was juicy and tender.

For the last mains it was the Pad Thai Seafood, and ohhh boy this was one of the best Pad Thai I ever had tried. Served with large prawns, squid and fish, it was up on the top 10 Pad Thai’s in my list.

After that four we were quite full, it was very had to put the next course in but for dessert there will always be room. Like a full luggage but you always find a bit of space to tuck in that important thing. It was Banana Rolls served with ice cream, basically a banana wrapped in spring roll, deep fried then coated with a caramelized sugar served ala mode. It a marriage of two total opposites, crunchy and soft, dry and wet, cold and hot. A really great way to finish this feast.

Taking consideration the prices of dinner in Gold Coast this one was reasonable; it was priced really well plus the serving size was bigger than usual. What’s even better is that the food was really good, and for those who love their food sweet, this place is for you, everything was with a touch of sweetness, I guess the only thing not sweet was the rice.
