7 Seas (Crown Seaways, DFDS)
First morning of our cruise and what’s exciting is the breakfast buffet, nothing can get more exciting than that or is only me 🙂 Well the places to visit is also exciting but breakfast share the same feeling for me, especially on a place that I haven’t tried before plus we are in Scandinavia, I haven’t tried any of their breakfast yet so I don’t know what to expect, all I know from the Scandinavian cuisine are the Swedish Meatballs and Surströmming.
Crown Seaways is one of the best options if you want to do an overnight cruise crossing from Copenhagen to Oslo and 7 seas is their main restaurant, this is where the breakfast is served. Located on Deck 8 on the bow side of the ship, it’s a massive restaurant that occupies the port to the starboard side of the ship. With wonderful views of the wide-open Kattegat sea this place serves a wide variety of delicious dishes from a wide selection of seafood, traditional meat dishes, salads, cheese and pastries.
We came in really early so we can seat in the front and enjoy the view from the massive window in the bow, a really nice experience early morning as we approach Oslo. Selections are ample and the food was overflowing, so you don’t need to worry if you woke up late, fruits, Danishes, bread, bacon, sausages, eggs, baked beans, cold cuts, cheeses, salad, cereals, dried fruits, nuts and yes, a lot of herring, there something for everyone.
While it is your stock standard buffet plus some small things the quality of food is better than normal, service was great and if you are really you have the option to seat in front and see the magnificent view as you start your day. What more can you ask for, Crown Seaways is one of the most affordable way to go from Copenhagen to Oslo, crossing happens at night so all you have to do is sleep and wake up to a nice breakfast, which means your hotel, your breakfast and basically your airfare has been sorted out for you.
