Jollibee Tsim Sha Tsui (Hong Kong)
Last month we stopped over in Hong Kong when we had our Europe trip, we had at least 8 hours to kill and what we did was food tripping! One of our agenda has to be Jollibee and if you are a Filipino living in a place without it, a trip to Jollibee is a must. I had posted several of Jollibee escapades before and it does not stop there, in fact every Jollibee outside the Philippines I will be posting here, it’s an experience that I would love to share to Filipinos around the world.
We came in early morning in Hong Kong and that was my dilemma, if we will be food tripping here where do we start and do, we have the tummy to handle them. We thought of trying out the different cheap Michelin star restaurants but they were all closed luckily Jollibee was open, so we have to do that first. At first, I was not too excited as I don’t want to eat their breakfast menu as all of them, I can cook at home but since they were the only ones opened at 9:30 AM in the morning it has to be done.
There are many Jollibee branches now since I left Hong Kong after working there, today there are four on the Hong Kong Side and three on Kowloon side, I was avoiding the protesters in the Hong Kong side just to be safe and we already tried the Mongkok ones so we ended up in Tsim Sha Tsui branch.
It was my first time there, so I don’t know what to expect. It was a basement Jollibee no windows so you don’t see what’s inside, as I enter I saw a lot of people eating their breakfast menu then a glimmer of light shined upon me when I saw they are already serving Chicken Joy, my heart pounded in excitement, this is one of the reasons of stopping by here.
As I ordered I notice they do not have EFTPOS or Credit Card machine, so I have to go out swap money and go back again, good thing there was a money exchange in front, so I don’t have to look for it. When I was in the counter I even got more excited as they have a special on going, a HK$ 99.00 Jolly Choice Meal that consists of 2 pieces of Peach Mango Pie, 2 Drinks, 2 servings of Jolly Spaghetti and most important of all 4 pieces of Chicken Joy, this was a feast for a breakfast and a steal as it was HK$ 163.00 before.
I was in joy with my Chicken Joy specially with a bigger quantity serving of gravy, I was in heaven. That crispy, juicy chicken meat is irreplaceable, nothing can ever replace that taste. Add to that that sweet savoury Filipino spaghetti, that’s me sorted out for the day.
