3 Types of Nilupak
Pounded Root Crops or Banana, Served Plated or Hand-held
Another item for debate but like the former this is usually served and sold with kakanins. A quite unique snack where root crops or any starchy ingredient is cooked then pounded, shaped before lathered with margarine and served with sugar.
Nilupak na Kamoteng Kahoy – Prepared with pounded cassava roots.
Nilupak na Saba – Prepared with pounded cardaba / saba bananas.
Nilupak na Ube at Gabi – Prepared with a mixture of gabi (taro) and ube (purple yam)
