Filipino Sweet Macaroni Salad

Sweet Macaroni Salad or Filipino Sweet Macaroni Salad is a dessert salad prepared with Macaroni, Palm Fruit, Fruit Cocktail and Cheese dressed in Condensed Milk and Mayonnaise.

For many the idea of combining Macaroni, Condensed Milk, Mayonnaise, Palm Fruit, Fruit Cocktail and Cheese is quite unusual to say the least but for Filipinos it sounds like a great dessert and we call it Sweet Macaroni Salad. This salad is very popular during the Christmas season and it is a version of the fruit salad for the budget conscious, as fruit cocktail back home is quite an expensive commodity, it is then extended with macaroni pasta to feed more.

Honestly, I was never fond of this salad, I also find the combination weird but for our post today’s I will be making something that I will like, I never made this in my entire life but things will change today. I think I have not tasted a properly made one hence I had a bad experience, hopefully today that will all change as I will be adjusting the ingredients, I know to what my palate will accept.

So, what is the verdict?
Well it was better, I guess is because how the macaroni pasta was cooked. But will I crave for it, maybe not but I would be happy to serve this to people.

And yes before I forget
Merry Christmas to everyone, hope you all have a good time this festive season
