Jewel of Bombay (Auckland CBD, New Zealand)

This is my go to Indian place if I am craving for curry during a lunchtime work day, I can’t count how many times I ate here, perhaps more than 20 times already. A small stall in middle Queen Street that seats I think around 10 people, sometimes we dine in here, sometime we do takeaway. I tried almost all their offering and loved them all, the taste is perfect for my palate, what’s even better is that some of their dishes have an option of mild and hot.

The only thing I haven’t tried before was their Thali Special (NZ$13.50) basically a sampler of three different curries, Raita, chutneys, poppadum, naan and rice. It was real value for money and definitely will fill you up. During this visit I grabbed a sampler of my favourites, chicken korma, hot butter chicken, lamb vindaloo and chicken karahi.

Curries was always good as usual, naan was perfectly cooked chewy and crisp on edges and the chutney and raita even complements the curries. I usually order the 2-curry combo and that costs (NZ14.50), I guess from now on Thali will be my way to go.
