Looking for some quick chow when you are in South Bank then head over to this Japanese Stall just outside the South Bank Station and you will be treated with simple yet good food. This Izakaya style eatery has options for dine in, a quick bite or even takeaway, they have a full-blown restaurant that serves sushi, sashimi and other Japanese specialties but if you are in a hurry there are fast meal options to choose from.
I had a quick lunch here and they offer rice bowls and ramens, what I had tried is their Pork Katsu Curry (AU$ 12.00), crispy fried panko breaded pork cutlet served on top of steamed rice and rich Japanese curry sauce. Like I said it was no fuss, simplistic but really tasty, the taste of curry is amazing and the pork was perfectly cooked, crispy and juicy.
Another one that I tried was this Chicken Karaage Miso Ramen (AU$ 12.00), basically crispy fried chicken prepared Japanese style served on a miso based ramen soup. This was delicious, a perfect hangover cure, it was oily but you will not notice it, very good on the tummy.
They also sell bubble tea in here and it was the drink of my choice, so I grabbed a Taro Bubble Tea (AU$ 5.50) with Pearl (AU$ 0.50), it was on par as the popular bubble teas out there.
It was quite a quick bite when we visited this place so we did not have enough time to enjoy the restaurant, we just seated outside on the public space. They serve good food, feels like home cooking for me. On my next visit I will make sure to try their restaurant and have a relaxing meal without rushing.
