Haru No Yume (Auckland CBD, New Zealand)
I guess most of you would know Auckland is a little big city, its small in population and big at heart. Having said that we have a lot of things that most metropolitan city has but it may be only one or a couple of each. To give some perspective to that for example a big city like Los Angeles may have tons of options for Turkish restaurant or Lebanese in Auckland we have them as well but may be only one or two of those establishments, In the States in the supermarkets you might have 30 quinoa brands here we have one or two and that goes the same with good Japanese buffet restaurants, I only knew two Katsura and our restaurant for today Haru No Yume.
Japanese buffet even in other countries are hard to come by, let alone Auckland but yes, we have it and I like it. Haru No Yume offers a lot of the usual Japanese favourites but everything starts with a large sushi and sashimi platter filled with the catch of the day like salmon, tuna, octopus and scampi served on your table whether you like it or not.
It is a good starter, though its tad smaller than the usual sashimi slice, the quality of the fish was good, I noticed that on the salmon they use, it tastes fresh and really fatty. Once you got it all sorted you can start visiting the buffet counters filled with edamame, teriyaki, takoyaki, chicken karaage, tempura and sashimi to name some. There are also more sushi and sashimi if the platter is not enough for you. There are also some salads for those who love greens but it’s like a poke bowl salad where it is studded with raw salmon and other types of fish. If you love noodles, chawanmushi and cooked fish they have it as well. And if you have still room after all that Shabu Shabu is served next.
Drinks wise they also have the popular Japanese brands from warm and cold sake and beers, personally I love the Sapporo brand as its light and easy to drink, perfect beer when its really cold. And to finish it all there are also desserts to choose from but I was quite full so I just grabbed some green tea ice cream.
All for NZ$49.00 per adult and NZ$25.00 per child, trust me that can’t be beaten, with the amount of selection and quality of food, it’s so affordable. Trust me it will be the best NZ$49.00 you will spend, so what are you waiting for? Book you seats now, they fill up really quick during weekends.
