Tiki Grill (Lahaina, Hawaii)
When I posted a couple of days ago I remembered that I said on my first day in Maui I had a light snack, well this was it. I know for most this is not light but if you came from two flights one eight hours and another one hour plus layovers, land travel and a 23-hour difference, your body is so messed up and you tend to be hungry. I was so tired that day I never bothered where I ate, I just chose what’s nearest to my hotel room and this was it, the Tiki Grill.
Just located at the grounds of Ka’anapali Beach Hotel this stall is just near the pools under the palm trees where it’s so nice to relax under the sweltering heat followed by a nice ocean breeze. I nearly fell asleep while sitting there but my body just tells me grab a bite and snooze afterwards.
There were many choices like hamburgers, salads, sandwiches, chicken and even pizza I opted for something light and very Hawaiian hence I grabbed some Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich ($15.00) and a Lemonade ($2.95). It was a simple sandwich served with large fillet of grilled Mahi Mahi, tomatoes, lettuce and grilled onions dressed on a tartare sauce. It was delicious and I haven’t had a real grilled fish for quite some time now so this was a treat and was gone really quick.
I downed it with some lemonade which was the perfect beverage for the food and the temperature as it cleanses the palate at the same time it’s very refreshing specially with lots ice. I was enjoying the moment, foot on another chair while munching on good food, under a shade, loving the cold breeze with a nice scenery, it’s hard to beat this.
After enjoying that moment, I went back to my room, had a quick shower and snoozed like it was my last day.
