28 Filipino Soup Recipes

28 Filipino Soup Recipes, a collection of heart warming truly pinoy soup recipes that will keep you warm on winters or even on cold rainy nights

I live in the Southern Hemisphere so our climate here is going towards summer but for those in the Northern Hemisphere it is the other way around and to help you survive that winter I had prepared a list of 27 Filipino Soup Recipes you can easily try at home. Unlike Western soup dishes most of these cannot be consumed on its own and is served with rice hence they are tastier then your usual soups but there is no one stopping you to have it just by itself just remember to reduce the amount of seasoning required.

I tried to compile a complete list of Filipino soup dishes that I know and I tried consolidate the ones I think is similar, most of the recipes you see here are common household dishes but there are several unpopular regional recipes here are well, so if you think I missed something let us know by commenting below.

Thank you for the compilation. Definitely some I’ll be trying. The bile juices in pinapaitan will possibly be given a miss an I’ll possibly use coffee to bitterise that. I was interested to see you use the rice wash water to make Pesa. Is it used in other Philippine recipes? It always seemed a waste of a good starch liquid to just chuck it away( or my wife, who is Thai, will wash her face with it)

I love clear soups, so nice and refreshing unlike the very thick, rich and creamy western ones.
