Jollibee (Mongkok, Hong Kong)

Ranking #3 as the best fried chicken stores in America is a great achievement and it means one thing, this place knows how to make delicious fried chicken. Back home I understand how they love it but the first time I saw this overseas and non-Filipinos are enjoying it, well that’s a different ballgame and it’s something that most Filipinos should be proud of.

Jollibee started as a fast food burger chain but due to their delicious chicken joy it slowly started to become a fried chicken house. I love their chicken everywhere I go that I know there is a Jollibee I try to dine in there, so far, I tried the ones in LA, in Hawaii and a lot of times in Hong Kong but that was more than 15 years ago. Now that I am revisiting my first overseas experience it is obligatory to dine in here, Jollibee Mongkok.

On our last holiday in Hong Kong our MTR train ride from Hong Kong Central to our hotel passes by this place so there is no reason not to pass by here. We had a room fiasco during our last visit here, well partly our fault so we did some last-minute changes and stayed in a 5-star hotel but in a faraway place so we have bigger space at a more affordable price. City hotels specially in Hong Kong are small and I am not used to it anymore.

Anyways going back to Jollibee, it was really on my plan to go to this place when we visit the night market. We just came from Disneyland when we passed by here the first time so we were really hungry.

That is why we ordered the Bucket Meal A (HK$ 165.00)

Where it consists of 6 thigh and leg chicken pieces, 4 sides, 2 spaghetti and 4 drinks

We were so hungry so this was devoured really quickly. No talking to each other, just a serious business of munching on those crunchy juicy chicken joy, slurping on those sweet Filipino spaghetti and enjoying the sides of corn and mashed potatoes plus tons of gravy.

I guess everyone who had tried Jollibee would understand especially when you haven’t tried it for a long time.

It was a good feeling, it was so satisfying but it was messy. Till we meet again Jollibee.
