Salabat is a traditional ginger hot drink in the Philippines, usually served during the rainy season and it believed to have a lot of uses and cures which elaborate further below.
- 4 cups water
- 3 tablespoons honey
- juice from 1 lemon
- 1 thumb sized young fresh ginger, thinly sliced
- Pour water in a kettle or a small pot add the ginger bring to a boil and gently simmer in low heat for 2 minutes.
- Pour liquid a teapot then mix in the honey and lemon juice.
- Serve while hot.
