Description
Today we will be making a creamy pasta the Ham Fettuccine Bake where it is prepared with leftover ham, some fettuccine, peas, milk and cheese. A very comforting casserole that can be easily prepared on a busy week night.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cubed fully cooked ham
- 3 cups cooked fettuccine
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 4 tbsp flour
- 4 cups milk
- 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 6 tbsp butter, divided
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- salt
- freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- In a pan add 2 tablespoons of butter and in medium heat sauté garlic until light brown. Add the bread crumbs and continue to cook while occasionally mixing for 4 minutes or until its golden brown. Remove from pan then set aside.
- Using the same pan, add the remaining butter and flour, cook until it forms into a roux, gradually add the milk then continue to cook for 2 minutes or until thick.
- Add the cheese and cook for 3-4 more minutes in low heat until melted. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Add the ham, fettuccine and peas then transfer in a baking dish, top with the crispy bread crumbs and dried parsley and bake in a 180C preheated oven for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
My girl would love to have this anytime. Maybe I can give it a try but ham here is very expensive. 🙁
