Ham Fettuccine Bake
Ham when you buy them usually comes as a big chunk of leg meat so usually there are a lot of leftovers after serving them for the first time. There can be many uses for it and the most common way of consuming them is by putting it in a sandwich but I guess everyone can agree that this can be boring sometimes so using it differently as much as possible would be ideal hence we have this post today.
Having said that ham can be used in a multitude of ways like in soups, fried rice, stir fry and pizza to name some. Today we will be making a creamy pasta the Ham Fettuccine Bake where it is prepared with leftover ham, some fettuccine, peas, milk and cheese. A very comforting casserole that can be easily prepared on a busy week night.
- In a pan add 2 tablespoons of butter and in medium heat sauté garlic until light brown. Add the bread crumbs and continue to cook while occasionally mixing for 4 minutes or until its golden brown. Remove from pan then set aside.
- Using the same pan, add the remaining butter and flour, cook until it forms into a roux, gradually add the milk then continue to cook for 2 minutes or until thick.
- Add the cheese and cook for 3-4 more minutes in low heat until melted. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Add the ham, fettuccine and peas then transfer in a baking dish, top with the crispy bread crumbs and dried parsley and bake in a 180C preheated oven for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
