Thang Long Asia Food (Berlin, Germany)

Like our past Berlin restaurant that we visited our visit here was also a spur of the moment decision because we are too tired to think or even walk and find for a restaurant we fancy, we just chose the one nearest to where we are.

While walking towards the train station that will bring us back to the hotel we stay we saw several establishments and we chose this place called Thang Long Asia Food, it’s quite a gamble because the moment we ordered an dined in there was no one inside, only us. But as we ordered and started eating people begin to flock in multitudes, luckily we already had ordered otherwise there will be quite a wait if we did it later. It looks like this place is a popular takeaway for the locals as we barely see tourist order food in here and most of the orders are in those Chinese rice boxes.

Alexanderstrasse

Located just beside the Berlin Tower and the Alexanderplatz station, it’s quite a very convenient location especially for someone like us. So what do they offer?

Berlin Tower

Like the name suggest they serve Asian dishes like curries and noodles.

That’s what we exactly got, first we had some Crispy Duck and Noodles in Peanut Sauce €7.50

We gave it a try immediately and that duck really is crispy, reminds me of the Chicken Skin chicharon in the Philippines, I know it’s unhealthy but we were walking for almost the whole day this is our prize. It was so good we got another Crispy Duck and Noodles but in a different sauce the Sweet and Sour one (€7.50)

We also ordered some curries but the wife and daughter is not a huge fan of them so I can have this Shai Masala (€6.90) on my own, it was also good and flavourful but I was expecting it to be a bit hotter.

While we are eating people takeaway orders are non-stop, most of them order these lunch boxes.

We were intrigued so we also ordered what they usually did, so we got some of the Murg Sewia which is a Stir Fried Noodles with Chicken and Vegetables €4.50

Overall food was good, it was really affordable I guess that is why they have a lot of customers for a daily takeaway dinner this is an economical but definitely a tasty option. The place is just a normal eatery without the fancy bells and whistle but who cares specially when you just want your takeaway and not bother dining in there. If you will be trying this place soon I suggest get their crispy duck, a definite must try in that place.

  4. Nice article mate. I’ve been meaning to make it in Berlin. I cook Thai street food in London and hear great things about the scene in Berlin. My friend has just moved to Berlin to start an Issarn Thai pop-up called Khan- look out for him.
