Stir Fried Cabbage and Carrots

Stir Fried Cabbage and Carrots

Sometimes extra vegetables in the refrigerator makes you creative, why? Because when you see them you think “what should I do with it?” and this is a classic example. I have several extra vegetables in my vegetable bin, third of a cabbage head, some carrots and yellow peppers all leftovers from previous meals, was thinking of a good way to use them and my answer was this. I know I can get more creative but I was also looking for something simple that I can whip up quickly.

I call this dish simply as Stir Fried Cabbage and Carrots, like the name suggest it is a stir fry of mixed vegetables that are julienned. I used some fish sauce and oyster sauce to flavour it and that much about it, just stir fry them quickly to retain its crunch and you’re all good to go. Honestly I can eat it on its own but you can always pair it with something.

Great dish! I love cabbage in stir-fry, but don’t often use carrots. This sounds like a wonderful combo, though — thanks!

  2. Love the seasonings here Raymund – thanks

  3. Geez Raymond. When I saw the title I got a bit…… aaaahhhh cabbage, not sure if I’m gunna like this dish, you see cabbage & I are not the best of buddies, there’s nothing wrong with it I know, it’s not as if I’m allergic to it, it’s just its sort of…… well…… cabbagey 🙂 But darn, you’ve gone & made this kind of look a bit interesting….. I may even consider cabbage favorably a little bit more.

  4. Dear Raymund,

I’m a bit like Anna too and think cabbage belongs in a cold slaw and still I’m not quite fond of its raw taste. But I love sauerkraut and this recipe definitely looks more pleasing.

  5. Yummy!! I love stir-fry cabbage with mix vege’s thrown in for color and deliciousness!
