Breakfast Buffet at Eight Langham (Auckland CBD, New Zealand)

A while back I had posted about Eight restaurant but that article was for their dinner buffet, we had dined in a couple of times already after that and for today I will be writing about our breakfast experience.

This breakfast experience was a part of a whole package called Five-Star Eight Escape which costs NZ$385 per room/night. It might sound expensive but if you look what you will get with it then it’s really worth its price. First the package includes a buffet dinner for two in Eight restaurant, a bottle of Méthode Traditionelle, free valet parking, late checkout, Complimentary use of the Chuan Spa wellbeing facilities and a buffet breakfast for two again in Eight restaurant. That sounds a lot especially when you are having a buffet dinner then another buffet in the morning.

So what would you expect, like its dinner there are different stations for different breakfast.

First is the baked good sections where you find pastries, cakes, muffins, bagels, croissants, a whole honey comb, etc.

Then you have your warm section where different sausages, smoked eggs, green tomatoes, vegetable, bacon and breakfast steaks are cooked as you order.

Eight Breakfast 02

For fruit lovers there is also a fresh fruit basket.

An omelette section where you decide what goes into it, cooked to your liking.

Cold cuts section and preserved food section like smoked fish, pickled herring, pastrami, Parma ham etc.

Eight Breakfast 07

Muesli, Granola, Cereal, dried fruits and other breakfast grain section.

Eight Breakfast 06

Another fruit section, this time it’s sliced.

Eight Breakfast 08

Yoghurt and dairy section.

Eight Breakfast 09

Some fruit juices.

Eight Breakfast 10

Another baked good section but more on breads and Danish pastries. Cheeses are also located here.

Eight Breakfast 12

and finally a waffle section where it is made fresh while you wait.

Eight Breakfast 13

I had a lot the night before this breakfast so I only had this and some pastries not in the photo. Everything is spot on from the pastries to the good selection of sausages, it’s more than enough to jump start my day.

If you do not plan to get the package I mentioned above you can experience this by just going there and paying for the full breakfast menu which costs $39.00 per person.

I thought it was expensive too, then I saw all those unlimited cuts and smoked fish, then the baked goods, I thought it was so worth it.
