Sprungli Luxemburgerli (Zurich, Switzerland)

Sprungli Luxemburgerli this is where you will get the best macarons, I tried a lot of shops across Europe and nothing comes near to their creations.

If you think you had already tried the best macaron but haven’t tried Sprungli’s Luxemburgerli then you might be wrong because for me this was the best ever macaron that I ever tasted. I tried several brands in France from really expensive ones down to the most common ones but nothing comes close to this Sprungli’s creation, I did not even know that the best macaron I can find in Europe was in Switzerland and not in France. Don’t get me wrong French macarons are great but this Swiss creation is simply phenomenal, it’s like comparing Mercedes S Class with a Lamborghini Veneno, while both cars are great the Veneno is something spectacular, out of this world to say the least.

Luxemburgerli also Luxembourger for those who haven’t heard of it yet is a macaron brand name made by the Confiserie Sprüngli in Zürich, Switzerland, the same company behind Lindt chocolates. Luxemburgerli basically is a small and light macaron with a centre cream filling which appears to only firm up in cold temperatures, once you buy them at their shop it is encourage you consume them immediately otherwise the cream filling would melt. There are a lot of flavours to choose from like amaretto, caramel, champagne deluxe, champagne gold, chestnut, chocolate, cinnamon, hazelnut, lemon, mandarin, mocha, pink grapefruit, raspberry, stracciatella (chocolate chip) and vanilla to name some. There are also some seasonal flavours in store.

Apart from the Luxemburgerli Sprungli have other pastries to offer, sadly we never tried them as we are concentrated on what we are after, their famous macarons. But as a teaser I took some photos of what other things they have to offer and here are some samples.
