Brasserie du Musee (Versailles, France)

After queuing really long and exploring the Versailles royal château and gardens a good food is a must thanks to a conveniently located restaurant just outside the palace we did not have a hard time looking for one. Brasserie du Musee is just around the corner roughly 100 meters from the main gate of Versailles, it’s a French cafe that’s serves pasta and pizza.

During the time we dined there its packed with lots of people most probably 99% of them are tourists but the wait for a table is not that long probably around 15 minutes. We were so hungry and once we were seated it did not take us a long time to order, without putting much thought on what we want eat we just asked for Carbonara, Lasagna, Quattro Formagi Pizza and Margherita Pizza.

Food was served after 15 -20 minutes and it was all freshly made, we started with the pizza.

My daughter always lookout for the Hawaiian Flavoured pizza (it’s her favourite) but in Europe this flavour is unknown, I guess we only saw this in one Pizza parlour in our whole vacation. So as a replacement she always opted for the Margherita Pizza and it was really good, you can taste the flavours of the tomatoes in a really nice chewy pizza base.

Next pizza was Quattro Formagi which means 4 cheese pizza, it is made out of chèvre, gorgonzola, mozzarella and chavignol. With 2 types of goat’s cheeses and gorgonzola this pizza is quite tasty, the rich flavours go well with a good wine.

Then there was our pasta the Carbonara and Lasagna both are equally good but we loved the lasagna more than the carbonara.

Overall the experience was great, food was also priced right around 10 to 15 Euros per item. So if you happen to visit Versailles in the future keep this in mind.

In Germany a Pizza Hawaii is on most of the Pizza Menues. It’s made with ham and pineapple. Even Pizza Hut Germany carries it. So I guess you have been in the wrong part of Europe 😉
