Satueed Carrots in Sesame Oil
Meat dishes on its own is not complete without any side dishes and there are lot of recipes out there that can pair really well with your favourite meat from buttered corn, buttered peas, buttered vegetable, mashed potatoes and rice pilaf the choices are endless but have you tried a simple sautéed carrots with it? If now well you have to, it’s one of the simplest dishes you can pair with your mains.
Sautéed Carrots in Sesame Oil is a simple side dish of sliced carrots sautéed in sesame oil seasoned with a bit of salt, it’s good to pair with any grilled meat but even better if the grilled meat is marinated Asian style. This can be served over grilled teriyaki beef, some sweet barbecue chicken or even simple grilled pork belly.
- 2 pcs large carrots, sliced into matchsticks
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp roasted sesame seeds
- pinch of cayenne pepper
- In a wok heat some sesame oil and lightly sauté carrots together with cayenne pepper. Stir fry for a minute do not overcook, its best when it’s crispy.
- Remove from wok then season with salt. Garnish with roasted sesame seeds then serve with your favourite grilled meats.
